The designer of Asmodee tried to create a new graphical concept of Hotel. This edition is very cool and modern, hotels have even more character than before, for example for the first time an hotel has transparent walls (the Artica).
The big concept change is that now you travel throught the gameboard with planes instead of cars, bank and town hall are now HANGAR and TOWER.
The game itself is pretty the same but it has finally distributed worldwide (with two names: Hotel Tycoon and Hotel Deluxe).
The prototypes I've seen in Toys Fairs where Asmodee showed Hotel Tycoon were a lot different, the entrances were nice yellow boarding ladder, the planes were more "fat", without the small windows and there was not the green colour, dice was white, spaces pictures ad other particulars on the table were different, deed cards had quite different design, the walls of Artika weren't coloured blue and did not have the ice design, the design of the walls of Upper Tows was quite different, the roofs of Reef Resort and the pyramid of La Reine were coloured blue, Coconut Beach Club's bases and roofs were beige, Artika was called Artica and the Tower (Town Hall) had a different roof. The box was totally different (see in MEDIA/PICTURES).
On a promoting poster in the Asmodee stand you could see another previous prototype in which you can clearly see a different table design, lower Artika walls (the ones you can see on "50" banknotes) and with different positions on the table, and yet another different roof for the Tower.
Uptown tower (ex President) is now much less expansive. A really BIG thank Galleria di Gioconomicon and Daniel Danzer for the prototype pictures.
I'm proud to say that Asmodee gave me several concept pictures that you find here, and they even contacted me to fix a few points in the rules after the first release.
